Very interesting news from tv3 today 19 nov 2010. Regarding expensive houses that in the market. It seems that the price is so high that it is a burden for the low and middle income earners. Suitable houses is a rare commodity and unreachable for the new and young people joining the work force in KL, penang and johor bharu.

Property in Malaysia is expensive now because of various factors. But I think some of this is because of speculation and “ Teh Tarik ” syndrome. For home buyers please be aware of this.

As you can see government already take step to reduce speculation with implementing harder housing loan requirement for third house. Down payment for third house is 30%. As for “ Teh Tarik ” syndrome I do not see any direct measure been made by the government. Hopefully our government will have the solution soon.
